Oftentimes, the human mind acts like a big hoarder of ideas, no matter how trivial they are. Transfer all these tasks to an external system which can be a task management tool, a simple to-do list app, or even a paper. This can be anything ranging from professional pending emails, phone calls, and appointments, to simply cleaning your wardrobe. The first step of implementing the GTD method is to collect what’s stuck in your mind. Clearing your mind of all the clutter and properly organizing your tasks is one way of effectively dealing with things. If there’s something you need to do that’s stuck in your mind, you have to get it out, to get it done. The GTD approach is implemented through a sequence of steps that essentially makes up the 5 pillars of this method, which facilitate operations processes: Capture Pro Tip: nTask is braced with GTD specific features, such as the ability to set up reminders, meeting alerts, automated pop-ups whenever Project Managers send new work down the pipes, and much more! Top it off with timesheets to maximize accountability and productivity altogether, and you have a team that’s productive at various forefronts! GTD Method Implementation: Let’s dive in to discover the basic pillars of the GTD method and how it can be implemented. The correct implementation of the method can free up some of the brainpower and thus, increases the overall productivity of an individual or a team. GTD is not merely getting-things-done, but a step-by-step way of accomplishing tasks through the basic concept of transferring ideas from your mind into an external system, breaking them down into actionable steps, and then finally, getting them done.īy following the GTD method, your brain will not have to remember and keep track of every other thing (which is humanly impossible anyway) and will facilitate delivering results. Oftentimes, you may have a plethora of tasks in front of you which need to be taken care of, or you may experience a sudden outburst of inspiration to pull off an idea.Īs David Allen says, ‘Your mind is for having ideas, not storing them’, therefore GTD comes to your rescue to pull these ideas out of your brain and convert them into actions. GTD or Getting Things Done is a popular time management method and the title of a best-selling book by author and productivity consultant David Allen.Īfter years of research and practice, David Allen came up with this technique of getting all your to-dos done by following a systematic series of steps. Let me introduce you to the GTD method to deliver results. Or, maybe we need to manage our tasks better? Definitely the latter!īut, how exactly? A question many of you might ask. Do you ever feel overburdened by the weight of all the things you have to get done during the day or during the week?īelieve it when we say this: each one of us thinks, at least once a day, that maybe 24 hours of the day weren’t put in place for us to do this much work.

With Lightburn, you get more design options, and can even work with layers, and set different parts to engrave, and others to be cut.Īnother big issue for me is there’s no air assist support in LaserGRBL. You also don’t get much design capability at all: you’re mostly limited to importing ready-made designs to laser. While you can open SVG files, you can’t open. You can override current laser settings while the project is ongoing in LaserGRBL. You can see below in the screenshot I took that there are override options that you can tweak while the project is ongoing, whereas in Lightburn you have to pause the project before you can change any of the settings. LaserGRBL also has better laser override settings than Lightburn. ![]() For more information on the differences, I’ve also written an article comparing Lightburn vs LaserGRBL. As a Mac user, this prevented me from using Lightburn for a while and so I had to use Lightburn instead, until I found my old Windows laptop to try LaserGRBL with. LaserGRBL is also only compatible with Windows, while Lightburn is also compatible with MacOS and Linux. Lightburn is better for these other controllers. ![]() So, while you can use it with popular lasers by Ortur, xTool, Atomstack and other consumer brands, it isn’t compatible with lasers that use other controllers like Ruida or Marlin – such as Thunder Laser or OMTech lasers. However, it’s only compatible with laser engravers that have GRBL controllers. With this, you can load any kind of image, including photos, clip art, pencil drawings, and icons into LaserGRBL and turn it into g-code without any additional software. There’s also the override function, which allows you to speed up or slow down the effective engraving speed and laser power in real-time during the engraving process.Īnother notable feature is the raster image import function. LaserGRBL has some really useful features, such as the jogging feature that allows you to manually position the laser head with two sliders to control the size and speed of steps. The UI is easy to use, without many confusing options, as you can see in this screenshot below: It’s specifically designed for hobbyists, so it’s a user-friendly tool perfect for beginners, and having used it in my laser projects, I rate it as the best free laser engraving software. ![]() LaserGRBL is an open-source laser engraver software for Windows that’s completely free to download and use. Only compatible with lasers that have GRBL controllers. The main factors to consider are obviously price, but also think about compatibility with your operating system (for example, LaserGRBL doesn’t work with MacOS), compatible file formats (beyond SVG, do they support AI, PDF, DXF), and t he features you need, for example built-in air assist or rotary attachment support. I’ll review and compare each option, splitting them between each category and price range, so you can pick the best software for your needs. ![]() I’ve used many of the most popular laser engraving software with my laser cutters, including LaserGRBL, Lightburn and others as control software, as well as Illustrator, Inkscape and more to design raster and vector files for engraving. You’ll also need software to create and edit your designs prior to the engraving process, but how do you know which is the best laser cutting and engraving software for you? Laser engraving isn’t controlled manually - it relies on laser cutting software that instructs the laser where to move using g-code. ![]() Prevention is the best tool for minimizing conflicts with coyotes and other wildlife. Once a coyote stops hunting on its own and loses its fear of people, it becomes dangerous and may attack without warning. They also become dependent on the easy food source people provide. When people provide food, coyotes quickly lose their natural fear of humans and become increasingly aggressive. Humans increase the likelihood of conflicts with coyotes by deliberately or inadvertently feeding the animals, whether by handouts or by providing access to food sources such as garbage, pet food or livestock carcasses. A study of those incidents indicated that human behavior contributes to the problem. These coyotes’ unusually aggressive behavior likely resulted from being fed by people.įrom 1988 to 1997 in southern California, 53 coyote attacks on humans- resulting in 21 injuries- were documented by a University of California Wildlife Extension Specialist. Coyotes had also scratched and snapped at two women and charged a man in the same area. In April 2006, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife officers euthanized two coyotes in Bellevue (King County)after two young children were bitten while their parents were nearby. There were no documented coyote attacks on humans in Washington state until 2006. Juvenile coyotes are often heard in summer, trying out their voices. Woofs and growls are short-distance threat and alarm calls barks and bark-howls are long-distance threat and alarm calls whines are used in greetings lone and group howls are given between separated group members when food has been found and a yip-howl is often done after a group reunites. CallsĬoyotes create a variety of vocalizations. Signs of digging occur where coyotes follow promising scents and excavate prey, including moles, voles, and gophers. Bones, feathers, and fur can be seen next to den entries. When small mammals such as rabbits are eaten, the head, feet, and hide will have been eaten, leaving a scattering of fur at the feeding site. Those resulting from a diet of cherries, apples, blackberries, huckleberries, elderberries, or other fruits tend to crumble. The residue from pure meat is likely to be semiliquid and black. ![]() ![]() Droppings consisting of a lot of hair may be larger. Individual droppings average 3 to 4 inches long with a diameter of 1 inch. The droppings are extremely variable in size, shape, and composition. DroppingsĬoyote droppings are found in conspicuous places and on or near their trails. Also look for coyote hairs on a wire fence where a trail runs next to or under the fence. Those that go over tend to rub the bark off the top of the log those that go under sometimes leave their hairs on the underside. When a tree falls across a trail, coyotes have to either go over or under it, depending on their size. Their trails are often found along draws, fence lines, game and livestock trails, next to roads, in the middle of dirt roads, and on ridge tops. Look for coyote tracks in mud, sand, dust, or snow. Monofilament recovery and recycling program."Beep-beep," we imagine Jones would say to that. There is some discrepancy over whether these rules were in place from the beginning. Michael Maltese, Jones' co-creator for the series, said in an interview in the book Hollywood Cartoons: American Animation in Its Golden Age that he had never heard of the rules. He then goes on to list the rules as shown in Posner's tweet. In my opinion, Jackie Gleason got more milage out of threatening to hit somebody than the Three Stooges ever did by doing so. Just as I decided later that there would be no dialogue in the Coyote-Road Runner series because it seemed like a good rule, or indeed it would be a good rule if it was consistent all comedians obey rules consistent with their own view of comedy. These rules come from Jones' 1999 autobiography, in which he wrote: Awesome to so clearly, concisely define your characters. Still obsessed with Chuck Jones' coyote/roadrunner rules. Yesterday, Jones' rules for that reality went viral when film director Amos Posner tweeted a picture he had taken at the "What's Up, Doc? The Animation Art of Chuck Jones" exhibition at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York City: Though the behavior of the two seemed spontaneous and silly, their comedic timing was a carefully constructed reality made by Chuck Jones, perhaps the most famous director at Warner Brothers' animation division. Nvidia has yet to deliver on that promise although it's only been a few weeks since. ![]() Nvidia has also come out to say they will be enabling SAM on GeForce GPUs via a driver update, while stating that they've got it working on both AMD and Intel platforms. That makes the feature less appealing and restrictive, even though with some extra work in theory this could be offered on all current AMD and Intel platforms. It's worth noting that as of writing, AMD's only offering SAM support with the new RDNA2 GPUs when paired with a Ryzen 5000 processors on a 500 series motherboard. Notwithstanding, AMD took a different approach with RDNA2 by using a 256-bit wide memory bus in conjunction with their Infinity Cache, and they felt it was time to take advantage of this feature and squeeze some extra performance that would let them be more competitive against Nvidia's Ampere. However, for the most part there's been no need to make any changes to this limit either, as high-end GPUs typically feature wide memory buses and therefore have significantly more memory bandwidth at their disposal when compared to system memory. There's no real reason why the 256 MB limit exists, it was put in place back in the 32-bit era and hasn't been altered since. Typically the CPU can access up to 256 MB of mapped VRAM, but with the resizable BAR it can have full access to the graphics cards' VRAM buffer. ![]() ![]() While technically SAM is not an AMD-exclusive technology, they are the first to take advantage of the resizable Base Address Register or resizable BAR, a feature introduced with the PCIe 3.0 spec.įor those of you not yet up to speed, SAM or resizable BAR defines how much of your graphics cards VRAM is to be mapped for access by the CPU. This data, essential to a photographer, includes important information about the captured image. Because of this, the shutter count is not always an accurate description of the camera’s lifespan.ĮXIF data stands for exchangeable image file format data and is defined by certain information that relates to media captured by a digital camera. Some companies keep the shutter count at its previous value to let the user know how much the camera has been used. ![]() It is important to note that not every company resets the shutter count when they reinstall the shutter. If your camera is nearing its shutter count expectancy, the manufacturer can install a new shutter which would reset the shutter count, making the camera brand new in terms of how many pictures it can take. However, camera manufacturers themselves can reset the shutter count. This protects used camera buyers by ensuring they get accurate information about the product they’re investing in. The manufacturing companies keep users from resetting shutter counts to prevent people from fraudulently reselling old cameras as new. The shutter count acts as a warranty given by the company and the camera may very well exceed this number. Reaching its shutter count may not necessarily mean that the camera will die. The higher the shutter count, the fewer pictures the camera can take in the future. If a camera has a high shutter count, it means that it has taken many pictures and is nearing its shutter expectancy. Moreover, if you are buying a used camera, the shutter count is a necessary piece of information to know so you can make an informed decision about your purchase. Aware of the shutter count, a photographer can predict and plan accordingly. To have one’s camera break down in the middle of the shoot is likely to lead to unexpected problems. Cameras are used constantly, especially by professional photographers. While most cameras last longer than their shutter count expectancy, it is still an excellent marker for the photographer so they can know when they need to get their gadget serviced. The camera’s shutter count indicates to its user how much their camera has been used and how much more it can be used. Cameras limit the number of times their shutter can click, known as the shutter count expectancy, which differs based on the camera’s brand and model. Similar to a car’s mileage, shutter count identifies the number of times the camera has taken pictures. Shutter count refers to the estimated number of times the shutter of a digital camera has been fired. If you’re wondering what that means, here are the highlights of everything important you need to know. If you are an aspiring photographer, you must have come across the term ‘shutter count’ at least once. ![]() ![]() What qualifies as a memoir?Ī memoir is unique in the fact that it covers your life’s events in a more story-like structure with an overarching theme or message written in.
